A resident species generally occurring singly at mv light, although it is occasionally common in a few deciduous woods and heathery commons in both vice-counties. Perhaps seriously under-recorded. Single-brooded, flying mainly from the third week of April to the same week in May. Larvae feed on silver birch, including the fallen leaves, and on hazel. (Pratt, 2011)
