Identification

: 4Species that can only be identified following critical assessment, often involving dissection and examination of genitalia. A specimen should be retained for confirmation.

A resident species often fairly common to common at mv light in both vice-counties. Local in high numbers and scarce along treeless parts of the coast. Single-brooded flying mainly from mid October to mid December. Larvae feed on oak, silver birch, sallow, hawthorn and wych elm. (Pratt, 2011)
