Resident. Larvae are often fairly common in deciduous woods in West Sussex, but adults less numerous. All stages much less frequent in East Sussex. Under recorded in both vice counties. Double-brooded nationally flying in May and June and again in July and August, but the few Sussex records date from mid September to mid October. Larvae feed on Hawthorn (Pratt, 2011)
