Resident. The moth usually occurs sparingly or fairly commonly in a wide range of habitats, but is sometimes common at mv light or even very common by day. Well distributed, generally so in large areas, and perhaps throughout. The number of generations varies according to the warmth of the season. Up to five emergences a year have been recorded. These appearing more or less continuously in slightly overlapping flights. Adults have been seen during every week from the third week of April to mid October. Larvae feed on nettle. (Pratt, 2011).
