Resident. The moth usually occurs singly to mv light on the few surviving shingle beaches and heathery commons in both vice-counties, although larvae are sometimes fairly common; in danger of extinction in East Sussex. Single-brooded, flying mainly from early July to early September. Larvae feed on lesser stitchwort and common mouse-ear (Pratt, 2011).
