Just two colonies of this species have been recorded - at Tilgate forest in Victorian times and more recently at Icklesham in 2003. Elsewhere the species is double-brooded, flying from May to July, with larvae feeding on both common and greater bird's foot trefoil. (Pratt, 2011)
