Common
A resident species. Both larvae and adults usually occur singly, occasionally sparingly in deciduous woods in both vice-counties. Widespread and increasing, but perhaps seriously under-recorded. Single-brooded, flying mainly during May although this has yet to be confirmed in Sussex. Larvae feed on silver birch. (Pratt, 2011)
