A resident species, in danger of extinction in the East and in the recent past only detected at Wilmington; presumed extinct in the West as it was last listed in 1905. Always associated with chalk downland habitats. Single-brooded, flying mainly during May and June. The larval foodplant is red clover. (Pratt, 2011)
