Common

A rather scarce and very local resident in a few deciduous woods, though sometimes fairly common by day and at mv light in a few western localities; recorded in only seven tetrads since 1990. Single-brooded, flying from May to July. Larval food plants have been listed as birch, beech and sallow, with associations with hornbeam and hazel. (Pratt, 2011)
