Nationally Scarce A

Status uncertain. In danger of extinction in West Sussex and unrecorded since 1962; never detected in East Sussex. Colonies were confined to chalk downland and vegetated shingle beaches between Arundel and Shoreham. Single brooded, flying mainly during May and June though this has yet to be confirmed in Sussex. Larvae feed on common bird's-foot trefoil and greater birds-foot trefoil although this also has yet to be confirmed in Sussex. (Pratt, 2011)
