A resident species usually seen singly in West Sussex and sparingly in the eastern vice-county in a wide range of wet habitats. Very local and confined to the south, and irregular in appearance. Sometimes double-brooded flying mainly from late May to late July and again from early August to early September. Larvae feed on osier. (Pratt, 2011)
