Resident. Larvae are sometimes common amongst neglected edibles. Rarely, if ever, found naturally away from the warmth and shelter provided by domestic houses, retail stores, health shops, and warehouses associated with foodstuffs. The number of broods and their timing is heavily dependent on temperature. Adults have been seen in most months from February to September. Larvae feed on a wide variety of foodstuffs including cereal bars, dried fruit, peanuts etc. (Pratt, 2011).
