Although reported in 1860 on the downs at Brighton, the only recent adult was recorded at Bosham Hoe in May 1995 and small numbers of larvae and mines detected in spear-leaved orache at Church Norton in early October 1996, at Sidlesham late July 2004 and at Hurst Green early August 2004. It is a double-brooded species elsewhere, flying during May and June and again in August. (Pratt, 2011).
