Resident and suspected occasional immigrant. Often fairly common at mv light on the shingle and sandy beaches of the east. Never recorded in the west. Flies mainly from late May to mid-July. Larvae feed on the flowers and seeds of viper's-bugloss (Pratt, 2011).
