Resident. Larvae are fairly common in deciduous woods with fewer colonies in East Sussex. Increasing but seriously under-recorded. Single-brooded flying mainly during May and June although this has yet to be confirmed in Sussex. Larvae feed on hawthorn. (Pratt, 2011)
