Resident. Generally occurs singly, occasionally sparingly at mv light, in a wide range of habitats, although it is often fairly common at Walberton. Widespread, but distribution is not intense. Single-brooded, flying mainly from early June to mid August, occasionally from late May. Larvae feed on hawthorn. (Pratt, 2011).
