The Victoria County History published in 1905 reported that this species was " Very abundant on the sandhills " at Climping and also occurred near the mouth of Shoreham Harbour. An East Sussex sighting was apparently made under unspecified circumstances at some time prior to 1995, probably at Beachy Head in about 1975. Nothing more is known about the species here, although elsewhere it is single-brooded, flying from July to September, and larvae fed on the flowers and seeds of little mouse-ear and common mouse-ear (Pratt, 2011).
