Resident. Generally appears singly at mv light, occasionally sparingly in both vice-counties. Double-brooded, flying from mid May to late August. The more numerous second flight period appears mainly from mid September to mid November, and again, after hibernation, from early April onwards. Larvae feed on oak, (silver) birch, hornbeam. on the leaves and berries of woody nightshade, and on bittersweet (Pratt, 2011).
