Resident. The moth generally occurs singly at mv light, occasionally sparingly in a few places in both vice-counties, although it is often fairly common at Walberton. Double-brooded, flying mainly from late April to the second week of June, and again from the second week of August to mid September. Larvae feed on spear thistle and creeping thistle (Pratt, 2011).
