Although recorded from the Haslemere district from the mid 19th century, it is likely that the actual origin of these records was Surrey. Tthe only, as yet unconfirmed, record from Sussex was of a single vacated larval mine in white poplar, found in October 2009 at Ferring Rife by T. H. Freed. (Pratt, 2011).
