A resident species, with larvae and adults usually occurring singly and occasionally sparingly across the region. Colonies are widespread in the West but apparently scarce in the East. Single-brooded, flying mainly from late May to mid-August. Larvae feed on sloe and wild plum. (Pratt, 2011)
