A resident species occurring singly or sparingly by day and at mv light in a few places on the chalk downs and shingle beaches along the coast of East Sussex; only recently found at Climping in the western vice-county, so in danger of extinction here. Single-brooded, flying mainly from late May to early July. Larvae feed on the stems of viper's-bugloss, although this has yet to be confirmed in Sussex. (Pratt, 2011).
