A resident species reinforced by episodic immigration. Often fairly common to common at mv light in a wide range of habitats and sometimes very common along the coast. Generally distributed. Double brooded, flying from mainly from early May to late June and again more numerously from mid August to early November. However, adults have been seen in every week from mid April to the third week of November. Larvae feed on dock and probably other herbaceous plants. (Pratt, 2011)
