A resident species often fairly common to common in a wide range of grassy habitats inland and sometimes very common to abundant at mv light along parts of the coast. Probably generally distributed. Double-brooded flying in overlapping emergences from mid-June to late September being most numerous between mid-August and mid-September. Larvae feed on various grasses. (Pratt, 2011)
