Resident and suspected occasional immigrant, occuring singly along the coast, sparingly amongst woodland, and sometimes fairly common to common to mv light on heathland. In decline and now chiefly confined to the Ashdown Forest and in serious danger of extinction in the west of the county. Single-brooded flying mainly from early June to mid July. Larvae feed on heather. (Pratt, 2011)
