A resident which is sometimes common and occasionally very common on the downs and along parts of the coast. Recently only patchily distributed, local and in decline. Usually double-brooded, sometimes triple-brooded, and occasionally quadruple emergences, with adults having been seen in every week from early April to early December. Larvae feed on goosefoot and orache. (Pratt, 2011)
