Resident. Occurs sparingly in a wide range of habitats but is occasionally fairly common at mv light in a few places. Very local but widespread and currently retreating from the far west. Single-brooded, flying mainly from the second week of September to mid October. Larvae feed on unspecified grasses. (Pratt, 2011)
