A resident species that is in danger of extinction in the west of the county and has never been recorded in the east. Extremely local but often common to fairly common at mv light on heathland near Midhurst. A single brooded species, flying mainly throughout October in a short half-hour flight just after dusk or flying before dawn. The larvae feed on the flowers of cross-leaved heath and bell heather.
