A resident species often fairly common at mv light in a whole range of habitats, and sometimes locally common among deciduous woodland; a widespread distribution although it is scarce along treeless parts of the coast. A single brooded species flying mainly from mid September to late December. The larvae feed on oak, beech and hawthorn. (Pratt, 2011)
