A resident species; fairly common to common at mv light in a wide range of habitats, and occasionally very common along the coast while lower numbers are recorded inland. Well distributed in the south by disappearing from the north; In serious decline. A single brooded species, mainly flying from mid September to early November. The larvae feed on unspecified grasses and low growing plants. (Pratt, 2011)
