Resident. Generally occurs sparingly but it is sometimes very locally common at mv light in wet and marshy habitats. Well distributed in the south and far east, but missing from a large part of central Sussex. Single-brooded, flying mainly from mid May to early July, occasionally to the second week of July. Larvae feed on various unidentified ribbon grasses. (Pratt, 2011)
