A resident species, usually occurring sparingly or fairly commonly at mv light in a wide range of habitats but occasionally common at mv light on the Downs and vegetated shingle beaches. Local and distinctly episodic in numbers it is well distributed away from the north-west. Single-brooded, flying mainly from early July to early September. Larvae feed on unidentified grasses. (Pratt, 2011)
