A resident species, usually occurring singly or sparingly at mv light in a wide range of habitats but occasionally fairly common to common at mv light in the north-west. Very local and irregular in any numbers but widespread. Single-brooded, flying mainly from mid- to late May to mid-August. Larvae feed on dock and sorrel. (Pratt, 2011)
