Resident. Moth usually occurs singly or sparingly in wide range of habitats, although often common on sugar and sometimes common at mv light in deciduous woods. Widespread but perhaps in decline in far west of county. Single-brooded, flying mainly from the third week of September to mid November, occasionally from early September to late November. Larvae feed on hawthorn, sloe and garden apple. (Pratt, 2011)
