A resident species that usually occurs singly or sparingly in a wide range of habitats, but is sometimes locally fairly common and occasionally common at mv light among deciduous woodland. Well distributed, probably generally so. Single brooded, flying mainly from mid May to mid August. The larvae feed on sycamore, horse chestnut, maple and elm. (Pratt, 2011)
