A resident species usually occurring singly or sparingly but sometimes fairly commonly in a wide range of habitats. Widespread but local and episodic in numbers, this moth is in decline. Single-brooded flying mainly from late June to early August. Larvae feed on white deadnettle, red deadnettle and woundwort. (Pratt, 2011)
