A resident species in danger of extinction in both vice-counties. The moth usually occurs singly or sparingly in a wide range of habitats but is sometimes fairly common in gardens. Much less frequent since 1988 and scarce during the 21st century. Single-brooded flying mainly from mid June to late July. Larvae feed on monkshood. (Pratt, 2011)
