A resident species usually occurring singly but occasionally sparingly at mv light in a wide range of habitats. Well distributed away from the north-west but episodic in appearance in many places. Double-brooded flying mainly from late June to late September. Larvae feed on stinging nettle. (Pratt, 2011)
