A resident species usually occurring sparingly but is occasionally fairly common at mv light in a few woods and on scrubby heathland. Very local. This species is single-brooded, flying mainly from the second week of May to mid June. The larval foodplants have not been publicly recorded in Sussex but various trees and shrubs have been listed from elsewhere. (Pratt, 2011)
