A resident species normally occurring sparingly or fairly commonly to mv light; occasionally common on heaths and evergreen plantations. A double brooded species with overlapping flight times, usually mid May to late August though this may be seasonally adjusted, and with the second brood more numerous than the first. Larva feed on Scots pine. (Pratt 2011)
