Resident in West Sussex, but in serious danger of extinction, never authoritatively detected in East Sussex. Scare by day and at mv light, and currently only found in the Arundel and Storrington districts. Very local and distinctly episodic in appearance. Single-brooded, flying mainly from late May to the second week of July. Larvae feed on common (white) valerian. (Pratt, 2011).
