A widespread resident that occurs singly or sparingly at mv light in a wide range of habitats across the county. It is single-brooded, flying mainly from mid July to late August, occasionally from late June or to late September. The larvae feed on the leaves of apple, hawthorn and Cotoneaster, although this has yet to be confirmed in Sussex. (Pratt, 2011).
