A resident that usually occurs singly or sparingly at mv light, occasionally fairly commonly, chiefly in deciduous woods. Widespread, but missing from large areas. In territorial decline. Single-brooded, flying mainly from the second week of July to mid August, occasionally from late June or to late August. Larvae feed on bedstraw and Convolvulus. (Pratt, 2011)
