A resident that is often fairly common to common flying naturally at dusk and also to mv light in a wide range of different habitats, although woodland, heathland and vegetated shingle beaches are the most favoured. Probably generally distributed, but very local numbers. Single-brooded, flying mainly from late June to late August, occasionally from the second week of June. An adult was also recorded on September 25th 1957 at Houghton Green (Rye). Larvae feed on Dandelion, Knotgrass, Plantain and Bramble, in other counties. (Pratt, 2011)
