Resident. Usually occurs sparing, although it is sometimes fairly common to common in grassy places at mv light. Probably generally distributed, but high numbers are local and very irregular. Single-brooded, flying mainly from late June to late August, occasionally from the second week of June or to early September. Larvae feed on various unidentified ribbon grasses and rushes, and on common reed. (Pratt, 2011)
