A resident that is often fairly common and occasionally common at mv light in deciduous woods and on wooded heaths. Only patchily distributed, and very local in numbers. Single-brooded, flying mainly from late february to early April, sometimes from early February and occasionally to early May. Larvae feed on (Silver) Birch. (Pratt, 2011)
