Resident. Usually occurs singly or sparingly but it is occasionally fairly common at mv light in deciduous woods; scarce away from the far east, rare along treeless parts of the coast, and very local in numbers throughout. Seriously decreasing. Single-brooded, flying mainly from mid May to late July, occasionally from early May or to the third week of August. Larvae feed on poplar and aspen. (Pratt, 2011)
