As a British species confined to wooded areas of the Wye Valley in Monmouthshire and Gloucestershire, where larvae feed on small-leaved lime. The lone Sussex record concerns a single specimen taken at mv light on sea-side shingle near the north-eastern end of Morlais Ridge at Winchelsea Beach near Rye by D. C. G. Brown on 26th August 2000.The moth was accompanied by a range of continental immigrants. (Pratt, 2011)
