A resident species. Both larvae and adults usually occur sparingly or fairly commonly in a wide range of habitats in both vice-counties, and they are occasionally common in some places. Well distributed in large areas and probably seriously under-recorded. Double-brooded, flying mainly from late May to early July and again from late July to the third week of September. However, adults have been seen in almost every week from late April to late September. Larvae feed on bramble. (Pratt, 2011)
