Nationally Scarce A

A resident species, in danger of extinction in the West, presumed extinct in the East since 1959. Usually occurs singly or sparingly by day in the best quality habitats on downland and in woodland rides and clearings. Rare. Single-brooded, flying mainly from late May to late June. Larvae feed on wood sage and golden rod. (Pratt, 2011).
